Time Flies

Seriously, where does time go?  It's almost September.  I haven't blogged since April.  This bit of knitting is the first I've picked up in a long time.  My focus this year has been mostly been on myself, my health and weight loss.  I also started my own garden of vegetables this year.  I guess between that, and my 4 fur babies, working and keeping the house it's does fly by.

I am not so much Vegan anymore.  I tried for a good 8 months.  Then I started slipping with some cheese.  And randomly bits of chicken here and there.  These days I still try and stick to it mostly except for a bit of chicken and some cheese throughout a week.

I started some seeds in a little greenhouse this year.  Not all varieties of seeds took but it was all a learning curve.  Green onions, green beans, snap peas, tomatoes seeds, cucumber, carrot, corn and sunflowers were planted but really I only got the corn, green beans, green onions and sunflowers to really grow full.  I grew one snap pea.  Yeah.  I ended up buying a tomato plant already started which took off well.  I replanted cucumber seeds and carrots later.

I've been working hard at the gym.  At least 3 days a week and some swimming.  All around I have just been more active.  Keeping house cleaner and bicycling when weather permits as it's been an extremely hot and humid summer here in Southwestern Ontario, Canada.

I still pick up this project here and there when watching TV at times. I am hoping my crochet mojo will come back more in the cooler weather.  I am looking forward to the fall.

Kitties are doing well.

This guy feels right at home as you can tell. He likes lots of love.

Tigger is still kicking as skinny as he is.  Loves to sit outside when he can.

Pippa, my snowy princess is the sleeping champ.  I thought Keegan was considering he's 14 now (Below left)

Happy weekend all!!

WIPS - Works In Progress

It's been a few weeks since I've posted.  I have been working on a few things.  I had a week off so I pulled out some on going projects.  Below, I started knitting with the yarn my brother had sent me for Christmas from Whitehorse, YT and my shawl below that in a car trip.

I started doing the border on this baby blanket.

And still going on my ripple stripe blanket.

I've still been going to the gym at least 3 days a week.  Last week I had off for vacation and my birthday.  We saw a few shows at the casino.  Comedian Bill Burr and the 80's group Foreigner.
When I had planned to take this week off I had hoped it would actually have spring weather but
sadly mistaken.  I had snow on my birthday.  We went to a buffet on my birthday. So I ended up
working out a bit more last week.

I'm starting to see some results from going to the gym.

And the pets are doing ok.  Tigger is still not great but we're going to keep him comfortable until his body gives out on him.  Pippa and Keegan play with the new guy Gideon.  He has so much energy and is constantly playing. We finally have all the cat toys getting use.

Pippa and Gideon will sleep together sometimes.  And I couldn't resist this picture, he was sitting there like that on his own.  So I had honey put the remote there.  Excuse the plastic, one must pet proof the furniture.

Happy weekend all!!!

Times Change

Hello crochet and craft addicts. Long time no see. I still love crochet and crocheted creations so much but find my focus has been diverted lately to more health en-devours.  I truly love to follow fellow crocheters, knitters and sewers to hope for some inspiration but have been focusing on health and fitness lately to drop some weight and be more active. Cancer has spread again on my mother's side, another of her sisters with breast cancer.  I keep getting mammograms every other  year but since i've changed my diet to more plant based, non-smoker and now going to the gym at least 3 days a week, I am hoping to reduce my risks with these actions. It's been a month since I've joined the gym and already see a difference in some body parts and fit of clothing.  Always a good sign and incentive to keep going.  I have a quite a bit of weight to lose to be a "Normal weight" for my height but am finally in the mind set to do so.

I bought this mini greenhouse in efforts to grow some of my own vegetables this year.
Here's hoping I still have a green thumb.

Our new addition keeps the house busy with activity.  He loves to wrestle with Pippa and the oldest, Keegan.  Keegan will be 14 next month.

Hope all is well with everyone and happy weekend!!!

Small Update

Hello all!!  There hasn't been must crochet happening here lately.  Just working on the border of the last baby blanket posted.  Life is busy with the cats.  The new one, Gideon,  is fitting in and has been playing more with our last addition, Pippa.  I love my baby cats but it's definitely more work keeping things clean with 4 cats. The oldest was sneezing so I've been giving him meds and the next oldest Tigger is getting skinnier by the day.  We've done all sorts of test but vets do not know what is with him.  We ordered some Prozyme supplement hoping it may help him.

I've recently acquired some more Cherished Teddies to add to my collection.
They are so adorable.

And on other news.  I've joined a gym.  Finally taking the steps to lose the weight that has been acquiring over the years.  It's only been 4 days last week but I'm feeling good, positive and sore.
Cheers to good health.

I finished joining my squares and have started the border on this baby blanket.
An ecclectic range of coloured squares.

That's all I have for now. Have a great weekend!!

Slow Progress

Work weeks never go by fast enough but the weekends sure do.  I'm still slowly but surely working on these squares. I hope to make a blanket I can put up on my Etsy.

Our new addition has been getting more comfortable with us and is adjusting to indoor life.  He does hide under the bed though when I crack the back door.  He remembers the sounds of the cars going by which always made him uneasy outside.  He's been playing with various toys that the other cats can't be bothered with.  He has to still get his FIV/FLV test done on Monday then we can let him out around the house and the other kitties.  They know he's here and his at him still. Time will tell.

Have a great weekend all!!!
