Peace and Relaxation

Christmas is finally over.  It was a nice break up to the work week.  Unfortunately, I work at a place that is open 24/7.  Next year it falls at the end of the week.  Yay.  I finally got to finish a hat for me. My dark kitty hat.  I love it.  And it's so warm.

Day after Christmas in Canada is called Boxing Day. It is an official holiday.  Most people head to the stores for sales.  I stayed in right here.  I was so tired all day.  Read, relaxed and took a nap.

I pulled out some yarn to stash bust and make the cats a little pad/blanket.  Not the best colour scheme, but I'm sure they won't car. It's warm.

Had to dress him up for a Christmas photo op. LOL

And, the book I've been waiting for.  My aunt got it for me. Whoohoo.

Happy Weekend All!! And have a Happy New Year!!

Tis The Season

The holidays are nearly here.  It's been a busy week at work ending with a wonderful potluck luncheon.  I finished the Cookie Monster hat for my co-worker.  She loved it for her grandson.

I also managed to finish my Hello Kitty hat in black.  It's a funky version I guess you could say.

I also made myself a tablet pouch.   It did not come out perfect but it serves it's purpose.

I also finished a few projects. I made some small ornaments for gifts.  And for sewing, I made these festive hot pads for gifts as well.

We were surprised this morning when our neighbor came over to thank us for shoveling the driveway for them.  Last weeks snow fall was a good bit and  we share driveways with one side.  They are an older couple.  It's just easier to do the whole drive anyway.  They brought over a lovely plate of baked goodies.
I do love Christmas cheer and baked goods.

Well, I wish everyone a happy holiday with their families.  Appreciate all that you have and bless and pray for those who are not as fortunate in this world.
Hugs!

Productive

I think I was quite productive this week.  I finished the Pink Hello Kitty hat for my co-worker. I also brought in my crochet goodies into work to see if I could sell any for Christmas gifts.  The lady who wanted this hat asked if I could make a cookie monster hat for her grandson.  I had one made but it's too big. So that is my next project.

I did sell a hat I made a while back, the pink one with the flower.

And I got a request to make an infinity scarf for another co-workers little boy.  I had the perfect yarn in mind for that. I started the scarf right away and just finished it up today.
My Christmas gift arrived from my honey this week. He got a good deal on it from the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals a few weeks back.  Of course I got to use it right away.  He spoils me.

It's been a cold week here, ending with some snow. The week started off having to get a nail repaired from my tire on the car. Joy.

Anyway, keep warm. Happy weekend all!

18 Days

I received my swap gift from my partner is the Handmade Gift Exchange this week.  Truly happy with how beautiful these items are.  Handmade cards and gift tags.  Thank you so much Jeannie.  I hope you liked my gift as much as I have yours.  Happy Holidays.

I got some bias binding and finished up a baby change pad for my cousin.
First binding attempt and thanks to You Tube, not too bad.

I also pulled out my great grandmother's Singer sewing machine to clean it up. I haven't tried it yet, but I hear they are great to sew jeans and thicker materials.

This week I got an order for a Hello Kitty hat. A co-worker sent me a picture from online some where and this was my creation.

Below is the picture I was sent.

And from making the hat, I received another order for one from another girl at work. Yay.  This time I get to use whatever colors I want. It's for a girl and so far I already have the base hat done in pink.

Happy weekend all!

Holiday Progress

Another Christmas gift finished this week.  The daisy flower grannies whip up quickly.  It's not a long scarf but enough to have some flashy color on ones neck.

And from my blogoversary swap, I received a little something from the winner Joanne.  Aren't these cute.  A crocheted pouch and mandala pot pad.
Thanks Joanne, love them.

I'm hoping to get some sewing projects done this weekend.  Only 3 and half weeks away. Boy does Christmas creep up quick.

Happy weekend all!

Stash busting

This week I finished a few small projects. This cute little holiday owl.

A quick stash busting scarf.

Made a zipper pouch. First one.  However, it didn't turn out how it was supposed to but all that matters is it serves it's purpose, to hold stuff. LOL

And these super cute owlie patch fabrics arrived in the mail.
Not sure what I am going to do with them.  Maybe just frame them. LOL
They were too cute to resist not getting them.

And a lovely co-worker surprised me with a bunch of Cherished Teddies that I collect.  Now I have a decent collection.

Above is some of the new ones.
And below is the collection.

Now I think I'll start to get out the holiday decorations.
Happy weekend all!!

Finished WIP

Finally finished my roll ripple pillow.  I had to extend the stuffing pouch inside.  As it turned out a co-worker bought it from me.  I had made her a baby boy blanket earlier in the year and it matched with it.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT MY BLOGOVERSARY GIVEAWAY/SWAP.
COMMENT ON THE PREVIOUS POST IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE IN THE DRAW TO SWAP WITH ME.

I've been working on some holiday gift sewing projects.
Below I got a lovely fat quarter pack from Ebay.
I think I'm becoming a fabric junkie as well.

This week at lunch time I went for a stroll in a local park.
Trying to take in the lovely fall colours before the white stuff comes.

Saw a woodpecker, squirrels looking for food and a few chipmunks.

Thoughts and prayers are with those in the Philippines and other countries that
the massive hurricane is going to hit.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Blogoversary

It seems it's 2 days past my second year blogoversary.  I totally missed it for my first year. I'm not a long winded type blogger. More a states the facts and show my pictures type.  But I do appreciate all you stop by and check out what I've made and have been update.

This year I'd love to do a giveaway/exchange. The winner and I will do a small exchange of something we have handmade. No need to get extravagant. Just something you made and maybe something unique from where you live. Just comment on my post and I'll enter you in the giveaway and randomly pick a winner November 16.

I got the idea as I joined the Winter 2013 Handmade Gift Exchange again this year.  You sign up, join using Elfster and pick the Exchange you want to participate in.  Newbie, USA, Canada, or Worldwide.  It is fun.  I have a link on the left side of the blog if you care to check it out.

This is just a small collage of October. My granny square Christmas Tree.  My character in an online game I have been playing for years and recently have been going back in.  My Halloween Pumpkin that I give out candy in.  The kids love it. They also get distracted and stare at it and forget to say trick or treat.  It seems a new saying this year was treat or die?  And my second Lucy bag I'm trying to finish up for my aunt's birthday this month.

I haven't done a whole lot of stitchery this week.  I had a colonoscopy and that was a joyful experience. NOT. On the bright side you loose a few pounds doing to flush beforehand. HAHA.  Seems all is good though.

I did get some cuddle time in with my kitties.

Happy Weekend All!!

Don't forget to Comment if you want to enter my Blogoversary Exchange.

Preparing

It's surprising how the new seasons creep in on you when you still trying to let go of the last.  But each year as fall comes, I realize how much I love fall. And that Christmas isn't far off so I better get working on Xmas project gifts.  I have been doing some sewing projects. I'm not completely going to show them so the ones I'll be giving them to won't be surprised.
I've been working on a Lucy bag here for my aunt for a few years now. Well it's coming up to be her 60th next month so I am trying to get it done for that.

Working on some African flowers for the Happy Hippo. I'm sure that may get completed some time next year. LOL

Stash busting to make some hat, tis the season. I may change the flower because once it's on the head it's HUGE. Chunky yarn flowers don't work on chunky yarn hats.

And finished my granny square tree.

Here's a fun thing going around on Instagram.
What would your name be?

Mine- Mystery Crochet Hexagons To Die For.

Happy weekend all!

Happy Yarn Day

Yesterday was International I Love Yarn Day.  It would be nice if such days fell on a weekend to really be able to enjoy yarny things.

This is my morning crafty scene.  Cup of Joe via Hello Kitty mug. A new project underway.  Clearly Christmas themed.

Received a gorgeous pack of fabric this week from E-bay. I am becoming a fabric junky too.  Now the next step is to get making things with them.

My honey was eyeing a mug online that he had as a kid. Vintage Yogi Bear cup.
I found one on E-bay and put a bid in and I got it.  It's a bit pricey for an old mug but you pay for nostalgia I guess.
Not in perfect shape but better than another one I found online.
I hope he likes it.

It's getting cooler and I got out my ripple blanket I finished last year.

I love it, makes me want to make another. LOL

And for those fellow Canadians, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
It is on Monday for us. I volunteered to work it.
Honey and I were invited out to my aunts for dinner today.  Yum

October Already

I can't believe it's October already.  It still feels like the end of summer.
But the leaves have been changing.  I do love Fall.
This week I finished this little owl by request of my good friend for her daughter.

Got a few new things, this resin Snowman from the thrift store. I may paint his coat and hat.  A hexie template to help in cutting material to size for the hexagons. And another nice fabric, should make for a nice lining in something.

I haven't got much progress on the circular ripple.

Happy weekend all!
