Merry Christmas!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families.  I'm sure most are glad it's over.
However, for us crafters we're planning on what projects to carry over for next year.  I had a
nice quiet day with my honey.  Slept in late, relaxed, made dinner, ate, drank and watched movies. No gifts were exchanges as we had gotten the two main things a month ago, new TV and my new phone.  I am happy with that.  We have jobs, good health and had a great meal. What more can you ask for?  What did you do?

I sported my holiday nails I got from So Gloss Etsy store a bit ago.
They are easy to put on using your hair dryer to heat up, trim and press. They last a week or more depending on how hard you work your hands ;)

I finished my honey's knitted cap tonight.  It's tight fitting but he has a shaved head
so it's fine.  Next time I'll make one bigger.

I've always loved the Starburst Granny Squares and with some new yarn colours I started making a few this week and joining them as I go.  What it will turn into shall yet be determined.

Enjoy the rest of your holidays!!!

Winter Solstice

Happy first day of winter.
I got my end table all ready for the holiday.  My light snowman in the glass block I got at a craft fair a few years ago, snowman candy dish received at this years work secret santa, my snowman bobble-head I painted.  My mini ceramic tree and front left a lovely decor item made by my supervisor at work with potpourri and flowers with the lights.

Working on finishing a table runner.  Trying to finish the quilting then bind the edges.
Made a few small decor items and working on some pastel circles for granny squares.

Desk at work.
And, the floral arrangement won for second place in our
desk decorating contest.

Some more home decor.

These are the items I received from my swap partner in the Handmade gift exchange this year. All the way from Germany.  The chocolate was delicious.

Yesterday I got to celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday, on the right, 10 years plus i'm in the middle and 10 years plus is my aunt.  Love family get togethers.

3 Weeks and Counting...

It's been a long week. I've been trying to make small little projects here and there. It's been hard being more tired with winter approaching.  Sleeping in is more appealing.  I guess being on afternoon shift will do that too.  I did decorate last week around the house.  I pulled out my Crochet Granny Square Tree, above, I made last year.

Made some ornaments and holly pin.

Basket of stuff.

Finally using up some christmas squares I got last year.  I am making a table runner.

And at work, the desk decorating is on.

Well happy weekend all!  Get crafting.

One Month Left to Craft

For us crafters having only a month left to finish intended projects for gifts put one in panic mode.  I did manage to finish my swap gift for the Handmade Gift Exchange I've been participating in for the last 3 or so years.  I'm swaping with a girl in Germany this year. I made this Christmas mandala for her, the snowman below, the bulb with the knitted swatch in it I previously posted.

The mini crocheted tree is for a gift for my secret santa swap at work.

I finished my star blanket.  Just large enough to be a lap blanket.

I've been trying to make some snowflakes for quick little gifts as well.

Holiday decorating has begun.  I even found myself a Charlie Brown tree.

I went to a few stores for Canada's version of Black Friday.  I hadn't been to Pier One in quite a while and was delighted by these decor items.  I really wanted the reindeer but it was a bit on the pricey side.  I was very close to buying the little squirrel but bought a fragrance diffuser for the house instead.

The cat tea pots were adorable.

Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Happy Crafting!

Crafting for the Holidays

My favourite things to crochet or craft is for the Christmas season.  I just finished this mini crocheted tree, yet to be decorated.  And below a quick rose ornament.

It's time to put out our favourite decorations for the holidays.  I found this mini silver tree and thought it would look lovely with bright coloured ornaments.  Snowmen being one of my favourite things, I found this little guy to keep me company at work.

Christmas came early this year.  Honey and I were out shopping yesterday and I have been wanting a  new phone for some time now as my old phone had a cracked screen. So he said go and pick it out.
He's so good to me.

I'm still plugging away on this hat for my honey.  So far it's turning out well.  I love this yarn, so soft.

Happy weekend everyone!!

Hump Day Hooky

These were the projects I completed on the weekend.  The owls for a co-workers order.
The purple being a broche pin.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to try it.  I've made it for a swap I joined. I just knitted a small swatch and added the toothpicks as the needles.

I picked up this small Christmas tree this year and found some bright coloured ornaments for it.  It's so cute.  I will probably add more when I find some more small sized ornaments.

Our coffee chain stores here in Canada even has the knitted spirit on their cups.

Happy Hump Day!!

Countdown is on....

Why is it that the winter season and Christmas seems to approach at a steadfast pace.  There never seems to be enough time to plan your crafting projects for the winter and holiday season. I guess that is called procrastination.  I completed two owls for a co-workers order and loved them so much wants another owl and a owl mug warmer.

I'm loving this yarn I got to make my honey's winter hat. I wanted to do a cable hat but had already started the ribbing edge and most patterns call for doing them in the round.

I acquired this gorgeous chunky yarn at the local yarn store and found this easy pattern doing my first cable pattern in this scarf.

Yesterday was the first glimpse of snow in my southern area of Canada.

My honey and I got our Christmas present to each other early this year.  A smart TV.
So far I'm loving it. I can You Tube on it and everything.

He ordered this vintage game from our childhood from Ebay.
We shall game this weekend.

So far for this weekend I shall be completing my order and relaxing after a stressful week.

Happy Weekend All!!!

Time Flies....When You're Crafting

So last week I finished a few things I had been working on.  Above, the knitted chunky cowl that I listed on my Etsy.

I also finished one of two owl stuffy orders.  I should finish the other this weekend.

And with the yummy yarn I got a few weeks back, I started a knitted hat for my honey.  I will also be using a darker a lighter colour in this hat.  I was going to try a cable knit hat but I couldn't find the right pattern. And when I did, it was to knit in the round and I had already started the ribbing edge. I was just going to knit then sew up after. I didn't want to take it apart as the ribbing process is boring enough for me to have to do it again.

I finished the other Earphone pouch last weekend and delivered to the new owners.  Hopefully these youngins will show their friends and request more.

I made a trip to the fabric store today to see what holiday goodies they had in and above is what I got. I found those cute scissors that look like a bird for 1/2 the price. I fell in love with this snowman fabric.   Now to pick a project for it.

More lovely holiday fabric.

I also got these panels from Ebay.  They will make an adorable wall hanging.

And for last weeks nature walk.....

There is a few areas where these cute chickadee's land right in your hand.
Yes, I'm starting to be one of THOSE people, the bird watcher.

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!
